Super Hyped for Our Star City Weekend

It’s Tuesday, a rare non-rainy holiday, and I’m not even mad about having zero plans - because sometimes the most exciting part of the week is still coming.
It’s one of those midweek holidays that feels like a stolen moment. You wake up with the sun already out, no blaring alarms, no urgent messages from work -- just peace, coffee, and the satisfaction of doing absolutely nothing.
I could've filed for leave yesterday to stretch this holiday into a lazy long weekend, but I’ve got a week-long Cebu vacay coming up next month, and I’m trying to act like a responsible adult. Keyword: trying.
But even with a chill Tuesday on my hands, I’m actually looking forward to the weekend.
Why? Because Star City is happening.
I know Star City isn’t exactly the VIP choice. It's the cheaper version of Enchanted Kingdom, like a laid-back cousin who's been through a few glow-ups but still keeps it real with whatever's left of its glory gone by.
However, what I'm really looking forward to is not the rides themselves but the people I'll be going with.
In a totally unplanned right-off-the-field discussion, my teammates and I somehow landed on the idea of going there.
Originally, someone said “Chinatown,” then another said Tagaytay, and suddenly everyone remembered we’re all lazy and would rather not plan anything that involves traffic, effort, or coordination.
So Star City it is -- a good old Metro Manila gem in Pasay that’s nostalgic, affordable, accessible, and 100% doable even if half of the group bailed.
Plus, this trip’s hitting me right in the childhood. The place is pretty near Intramuros, and I have fond memories of both places because it was the first amusement park and historical place that I've been to as a kid. So yeah, going back as an adult feels kinda full-circle.
Fun fact: Star City is pretty close to Intramuros, but if you’re into random side quests, there’s also the Crocoseum, the Metropolitan Museum of Manila, and the Money Museum nearby.
Our trip is set for the weekend so for today, I think I'll just head over to BGC again. Maybe pretend to be productive and look at places to possibly move into. Or maybe just people-watch and reward myself with milk tea for making it through this paragraph.
Either way, this long weekend may be quiet, but it’s also the calm before the laugh-out-loud, scream-your-lungs-out fun that’s coming in a few days. And that’s something worth looking forward to.
P.S.
If you’ve been to Star City recently and have tips, food recos, or just want to warn me about rides that will ruin my neck for a week, please feel free to comment. PLEASE LOL.
I don't want to be stuck in a ride or a haunted house, crying and regretting my decisions. 🙃
