My Friend’s Brother Is Missing

It was just the usual Tuesday for me when I came across a post on FB about a lawyer who‘s been missing since Saturday.

I immediately recognized him as Atty. Ryan Oliva, the brother of Rosh who used to be my flatmate in BGC.

I remember him because he accompanied Rosh when we were still looking for a condo in the area.

He also checked our Contract of Lease right before we moved in.

Upon seeing the article that he has not been heard of since November 21, my heart breaks for Rosh because I know how close they are as a family.

Back when we were still renting, Rosh preferred to go home every weekend and it was always her brother who picked her up and drove her back.

As more and more articles about his disappearance came up, I found out that Atty. Oliva is an accomplished lawyer who works for the Department of Tourism, and teaches at the UP School of Law.

It’s already Friday and almost a week since he’s gone missing.

I can’t imagine what Rosh and her family are going through right now, but I’m hoping against hope and praying that her brother is safe and that he would return soon.

Rosh and her family are good people who don’t deserve this and the hell that goes with not knowing what happened to a loved who disappeared out of the blue.

Atty. Ryan, wherever you are, I hope you’re safe and well and that you return home soon.

To Rosh, please stay strong. ☹️
